Lots of downright incompetent, rude and unprofessional workers at this company. Would give a zero if I could. You cannot even contact them direct by email instead having to go through a clunky interface every time - they reply after a few weeks - they can send to your email, you just can’t reply via normal email unless you go through their useless website. Very rude uninformative and irrelevant responses and obviously not a “legal” or “law” company, just minimum wage uninterested employees playing at being lawyers using bully boy debt recovery tactics. According to them the attached photograph is “signage” and I should pay them money for parking there, see you in court muppets - look forward to you presenting this photo as your “evidence”.

Contacted by BW after purchasing a house to say I owed gas and electricity for the time the house was empty. I kindly explained to them our exchange and move-in dates etc, and they closed the case.

Then they started sending the letters to my partner instead ?

I recently had a frustrating experience with a debt collection agency that contacted me regarding a relative’s outstanding debt. I received a message effectively stating, "Hi relative, you owe us £XXXXXX. We haven't been able to make contact with you, so please call back on this number."

Though this matter isn’t my responsibility, I decided to call the number provided. After waiting for 30 minutes in a queue, I finally reached a representative who was not only unhelpful but also quite rude. They talked over me and effectively shouted as I tried to explain the situation. I informed them that they had contacted the wrong person and provided the reference number from their message. To my surprise, I was told that my number wasn’t on their system, which meant I couldn’t take any further action.

This response was baffling, especially since they had reached out to me multiple times and disclosed sensitive information about the debt, including my relative’s name and case details. When I pointed out this inconsistency, the representative continued to disregard my concerns.

It’s clear that their employees lack the necessary competence to handle such situations appropriately.

This company keeps contacting me about a debt to repay. What I’m confused about is that I’ve never even lived in the United Kingdom so I don’t really understand why I’ve been getting emails from them for the past 3 years. Also the prices they say I owe have been fluctuating from £60 to over £600…..

Set up a payment plan August 2022, completed August 2023, had a email February 2024 saying I had an outstanding balance of £81 had a phone call today to set up yet another payment plan for it to say I owed only £10 which I paid over the phone I again explained I have the email here to say my last direct debit went out August 2023 and I was put on hold 3 times to then be told I owe another £5 the £15 I was paying 4 weekly for a year plus a 1 off £3.33 I paid aswell as £15 today! I'm not bothered but I am not at all happy about it!

Disgusting the way they treat people. I have now received a final demand for a supposed parking offence. My daughter lives in the flats and I parked in a visitor spot for less than 10 minutes. She had only been there 3 days and the property management company hadn't informed her every visitor must register for a permit. They are totally uninterested despite the Property Management company asking them to stop. I am now threatened with County Court. I fully intend to attend and present the judge with all the correspondence.

Absolutely shocking, BW Legal have given us 10 days (in reality 7 days due to the time taken for the letter to arrive) to pay a £470 British Gas bill for a PREVIOUS tenant.

British Gas have confirmed 3 times over the phone that this is not our bill, has nothing to do with us and relates to a previous 'occupier account'. British Gas have also said that BW Legal should not be sending letters to our address as this does not relate to us and they have a process in place for recovering money owed from previous tenants that does not involve demanding money from new tenants who have nothing to do with the 'occupier account' in question or the amount due.

We set up a British Gas account and have an account number from our move in date, we have never had a generic 'occupier account'. Our account is fully up to date on payments via Direct Debit, British Gas have even lowered our Direct Debit due to overpaying for Gas & Electricity. BW Legal have the audacity to put the burden of proof on us even though the British Gas account number included on their letter has never been associated with us. They have even now started including my name on their letters when British Gas have never done so in relation to this previous bill as it doesn't relate to an account under my name - not sure if this is actually allowed so will be checking on this. British Gas have all the notes on my file and this should have been clearly communicated to BW Legal that this does not relate to myself or our British Gas account but a previous generic 'occupier account'.

Plus a minimum 30 minute hold (if you're lucky) to get through to BW Legal on the phone.

Absolutely ridiculous, shocking and all round disaster class. Will be reporting to the ombudsman.

"Specialists in Legal Recoveries"... might need to update that tag line.

There should be an option for no stars. A company that simply threatens people with court action for debts they know nothing about. Asking for money about an address I have not lived at for nearly 20 years. I have shown evidence of this and they still persist in writing and calling. What a disgrace. Totally unprofessional and seem to exist only to cause undue stress. Avoid
