Used this company to submit our tax returns for 2 years, and were fined by hmrc twice. They initially seemed really positive, helped us to set up our business as a partnership to make the most of our tax allowance and submitted the first years return with no issues. In the second year, our priorities changed and we made the decision to close down our business. We contacted Martin to let him know that we would be closing the business in July, and asked him to submit our final tax return and close the business/ partnership, and that there would be no need for his services next year, as we would not need to do a tax return. We also notified him that the business email address would no longer be in use and to use our personal email addresses, and reminded him to continue contacting me over the phone rather than my husband, as he worked unusual hours. He thanked me for the notice, said he couldn’t submit the tax return this early, but would get it done asap and contact us if he needed more information. We thought nothing more of it. My husband received a few missed calls from a number he didn’t recognise in January, but didn’t think anything of it as there was no voicemail, message or email to either of us. A few days before the deadline, I got a phone call to ask why we hadn’t returned the forms to them to submit our tax return (the forms were only sent to our now closed business email address). I asked them to be sent to my personal email address, and I would review them. I reviewed and returned them the same day, correcting minor details (updating our address, married name and crucially that the business would not be continuing next year). The updated forms were sent for approval less than 24 hours before the tax returns deadline. We dropped everything to approve them and get them sent off in time (despite giving 360 accounting 9 months notice!). My husband received a fine that year for submitting a late tax return. Our business closed in 2022 (tax year 2022-23). He also received a fine this year (2025) for not submitting a tax return (tax year 23-24). I contracted HMRC to find out why and they told us that although the business had been ceased, my husband was still listed as self employed and hasn’t advised them otherwise. We would of course have notified hmrc ourselves if we knew this was necessary. We paid an accountant specifically for this advice, to make sure everything ran smoothly and that we didn’t have to worry about forms being filled in wrong. We essentially paid hundreds of pounds to this company to fill in a few forms (incorrectly) and not provide the advice needed even though they were well aware of our circumstances, and were given all the information and notice within plenty of time. We were prompt in getting back to them when they contacted us using the agreed upon methods of communication (I have no doubt if we had not been available on January 31st to respond to emails and take calls that we would have been blamed for the late tax return). We would have been better submitting the forms ourselves. Once 360 accounting realised their services were no longer required they just stopped trying (they were still paid for a full years work even though the business only ran for 3 months in that tax year). The self assessment team at HMRC have been really helpful in giving advice for free. Use them instead. You will be better off.

as a small property landlord, paying tax is very confusing and not straight forward, when i was looking for an Accountant, i spoke to a fair few, got quotations etc.
i'm glad i came across martin at 360 accounting, and his team.
i can't thank him enough. sorted out my tax returns, he has explained and went through there breakdown which arrives at what tax i am due to pay.
